Richard Magdaleno, CFP® ChFC®

Richard Magdaleno began advising clients professionally in 2003 when he transitioned into a new career in financial services. A former Aerospace/Defense Engineer, his clients benefit from his considerable analytical abilities, attention to detail, and methodical approach to problem solving without compromising the personal touch. A hallmark of his practice is the inclusion

and collaboration with legal and tax professionals to develop and present complete solutions to their mutual clients. Richard's client base consists primarily of professionals, business owners, and other affluent individuals.

Among his professional designations, Richard is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Practitioner and a CHARTERED FINANCIAL CONSULTANT™  ....... The coursework for these designations place a heavy emphasis on advanced planning for individuals that includes Estate Planning, Retirement Planning, Insurance, Taxation and Investments. His securities related credentials include General Securities Representative, Uniform Securities Agent, and Investment Advisor Representative.  In addition, Richard also holds a Life, Disability, and Variable Contracts License from the State of California. Professional association memberships include the Financial Planning Association (FPA) and Certified Financial Planning Board of Standards, Inc.

The motivation for starting Magdaleno Financial Services in 2007 was the growing demand from prospective clients for comprehensive planning and independent objective advice from an ethics driven advisor who places the client's interests ahead of his own. As a CFP® Certificant, Richard is voluntarily agreeing to abide to a fiduciary standard of professional conduct and client service.

Academically, Richard worked his way through college and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the California State University, Long Beach (CSULB). Coursework for both the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™  and CHARTERED FINANCIAL CONSULTANT™   designations were completed at the American College.

During his tenure with AXA Advisors, LLC, Richard honed his financial planning skills and grew professionally by collaborating with seasoned advisors, mentoring by subject matter specialists, and availing himself of the considerable practice building resources available from a subsidiary of a Global 100 company.

Richard resides in Southern California and enjoys the outdoors in his free time. Whenever the opportunity presents itself, he goes cycling or hiking in the mountains with his two sons; the eldest is currently attending UCLA. An avid dog owner his entire life, he currently owns two Jack Russell terriers and tries to keep up with their high energy demands. Fortunately, these high energy activities help to keep his weight down because Richard is a foodie at heart.
